Overview & Reviews
The base trim level has been dropped. The 2.7-liter V6 is now standard (the LX still gets the 3.5-liter V6), as is an automatic transmission. Also newly standard this year are four-wheel antilock brakes and traction control. Exterior changes include a new grille surround, side cladding, taillamps, tailgate handle, rear bumper design and alloy wheels. Inside, there is new seat fabric, an upgraded two-tone color scheme and a revised instrument cluster. A power driver seat is now standard on the LX, and a compass is included with the optional sunroof.
- Reasonable price, strong warranty, roomy interior, long list of standard features, solid construction, good crash test scores.
- Thirsty at the pump for a small car-based SUV, soft suspension limits handling ability.

By retbpd01 - February 12 - 7:36 pmIf the gas mileage was better, this may be the pervect mid size SUV. Reasonably priced, good standard features and great warrantee.

Santa All The Way - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Derek - January 1 - 4:16 amI was not to sure about the Santa Fe. However, after owning it for over a year I am very happy. The comfort level is high, it handles well. As for fuel, it is better then my last Van. For the price and standards features this baby should be the king of the road.

Nice ride - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Dave - March 30 - 2:00 amI bought the 2005 Santa Fe used just a week ago. The gas mileage is a bit lower than what I expected for a small V6. The 2.7 is just a little bit underpowered for a vehicle of this size. It is very comfortable for an SUV and handles very well. A solid vehicle with a lot of nice standard features. Roomy interior and sporty design. Controls easily reached and easy access getting in and out of the vehicle. Roomy cargo space.

A nice little car thats a gas hog - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Lisa - December 22 - 4:03 pmReally love this SUV. A little spongy on the ride, but I enjoy that type of feeling. Gas mileage really stinks, especially with todays prices going up to $3.00. Also disappointed that I have a smell in my A/C after two months of use, and side bumper scrapes too easily -- I already have several scraped areas where doors have hit the side of my car. Instead of creating a ding, the hits scratch the plastic bumper creating more of a deep scratch in the plastic.

Nice for the price - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Shepherdmommy - October 12 - 3:43 pmI really like this SUV since it has everything I wanted for a decent price. The warranty is also a fabulous plus. Cons: I have a problem with the location and noise level of the heating/AC unit. Its very loud and you have to crank the stereo up to hear it over the noise of the fans. Its also not easy to operate. My least favorite feature is the gas mileage. Its horrible. They could have done better with it.

Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
By mary - September 5 - 4:20 pmGreat vehicle; was not sure about a compact SUV after two Durangos but this has met and exceeded my expectations. The reclining back seats and cargo areas are great ideas and convenient.
